Version 5.5 Design Changes.
This is a sneak preview of the next version of HTML Builder XP, many of the interface features
have been modified to reflect recent changes in interface between windows XP and other versions of
windows. This version of the software is still in testing and is expected to be released between the 31st of January and the 7th of February.
Screen Shots.
Main Interface - Unobstructed.
This is an image showing every toolbar available open at once. This is
not a particular mode, it is something that can be done by checking all the menus
on in the view menu.
Main Interface - Explained
This is an image again showing the main interface fully expanded. This time there
are circles showing the most noticable changes. The circles are numbered to correspond
with the following list.
- You now have the choice to have common controls like save, bold, center etc right
on top of your workspace. This bar replaces the one next to the tabbed bar at the top when
in advanced mode if you have it selected (its a choice) and it is automatically visible in
expert mode unless turned off. (it remembers your settings)
- To conserve space in the interface the switching between side menu items has been
changed to be just "images".
- There are no longer the large chat, forum and web hosting buttons down the bottom
of the editing area, these have been moved to a "live tools" tab up the top and
can be accessed by clicking on the tab, otherwise they are out of your view.
Main Interface - Beginner Mode.
This is the main interface in beginner mode. You will notice it's still a blue bar but
no longer is gradiented. This allows for faster loading and more compatablity. It's also
less harsh on the eyes if you decide to leave it open while editing.
Main Interface - Advanced Mode
Perhaps the most modified mode, the advanced mode now has a new tabbed interface, with about
50-60% of the icons changed to be more meaningful in explaining what they actually do. Both of
The bars up the top have been modified to be slightly smaller as well, allowing for greater editing
area.
Main Interface - Expert Mode
First of all, the hideous big green buttons have been removed therefore making the editing area
a fair site larger and the buttons more familiar. As well as that in Expert mode you now get a
bar on top of the editing area with the save, open, bold etc. commands buttons, this bar is
also able to be turned off if necessary.
Additionally about the XP buttoned look
In these screenshots there is a distinct XP look to the buttons. When loaded up on operating systems
other then windows xp, this look and feel is automatically turned off, therefore causing no "funny looking"
software on your 95/98/NT/ME/2000 computer.
When will it be out with the new interface?
There are still quite a few menu's to modify, in fact 40 menu's in total, as well as some
other bug fixes to be done. I believe this version of the software to be released
between: 31st January -> 7th February
More Information coming soon. Thankyou all for your support, bug notices and
feature requests.
